The south side of a city is where the real story usually lives. Not the tourist version. Not the one on the brochure. The one that takes years to understand if you weren't raised in it, and makes complete sense the second you were.
Strange Allies made this fleece for that version of the city. The one where the neighborhoods have their own internal logic, their own rules, their own sound. Chicago's South Side has been producing culture, athletes, and music that the rest of the country eventually catches up to. Same goes for Pittsburgh's South Side, Boston's South End corridor, Baltimore's south neighborhoods, and the deep south precincts of Atlanta that people name-drop once they get comfortable enough to admit where they're actually from.
The design itself is the whole point. "South Side" arcs across the chest in thick varsity lettering that looks like it was lifted from a jacket no one can find anymore. The distressing runs through every letter, breaking up the fill, roughing up the edges, making it look like it already has a past before you even put it on. That's intentional. The vintage athletic look isn't a trend here. It's the language.
This is for the guy who left for college and never fully adjusted to being somewhere that didn't have the same energy. It's for the one who stayed and wears it like a flag. It's for the transplant who got there late but went deep, learned the blocks, learned the history, and doesn't feel like an outsider anymore.
Regular fit, midweight, and built for actual use. Not a costume, not a fashion statement in the performed sense. Just a fleece that says what it means and means what it says.
Grab it for yourself. Keep it. Or hand it off to someone who grew up on the south side and watches their city get described wrong by people who never crossed the highway to see it.
