Description

Seattle pride can be quiet, but it is never bland. This hat features embroidered Japanese text that says Seattle across the front, giving the city a clean, left-field feel for locals, transplants, and longtime fans who want something more interesting than standard hometown gear. It belongs on ferry days, coffee runs, late sets, rainy walks, and all the weird little routines that make the city stick.

Choose from black, red, blue, and more color options in snapback, dad hat, or trucker styles. Snapback and trucker versions are structured, while the dad hat is low profile and unstructured. Adult, one size fits most. It makes a strong gift for Seattle people and a souvenir that feels considered, useful, and actually cool.

Care Instructions

Hats can be tricky to clean, so the best way to clean your caps is by hand-washing them. Machine-washing can ruin the shape and damage the embroidery. If you are going to wash it: Use a mild detergent (no bleach) in lukewarm water. Gently spot-clean with a damp cloth if needed. Avoid using brushes.

Automatic donations to related charities

Fair ask. We’ve been creating anti-fascist and progressive art for over 25 years. Chicago made us, but now we’re full-time nomads making art and products that espouse our beliefs in human rights and social justice. We design things for the communities we come from and the ones we fight alongside, with a portion of sales donated to causes we support. We’re stubborn, loud, and allergic to neutrality. No fascists. No excuses.

Most of our items are available in a wide range of sizes. Additionally, most items are available in various styles. If you see a T-shirt design you like and want it on a hoodie, check the hoodies section or use the search bar. You can also customize the style and color of most designs in the custom section of our website.

Feel free to contact us if you can't find what you're looking for, and we'll do our best to make it happen.

We donate $1 of each item sold to non-profits and organizations supporting progressive, humanitarian, and justice-oriented causes around the world. All donations are automatically calculated and transferred to our charity partner every month to ensure compliance and timely processing.

We want you to love your Strange Gang goodies! If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you request a return for a refund or exchange within 7 days of receipt. Please note that all returns must be unworn and unwashed. Simply contact us at info@strangegang.com and we'll guide you through the process. Read more here. Important: Custom items cannot be returned for any reason, but damaged items can be replaced.

Seattle Through the Blur

Seattle has a reputation problem.

Too many people describe it like a mood board. Rain. Coffee. Pines. Grunge. Repeat until dead. That version of the city is not exactly false, but it is lazy, and Seattle deserves better than lazy. The real place is twitchier than that. More layered. More stubborn. More alive in odd corners.

That is what this hat is catching.

The front says Seattle in Japanese, embroidered big and clear across the crown. No scenic detour. No cartoon skyline. No fake ruggedness. Just Seattle pushed through a different script, which gives the city a different voltage. It feels tuned slightly off center, in the best way.

That kind of shift fits here.

Seattle is not a city that hands itself over neatly. It is built out of little obsessions and neighborhood loyalties that do not always explain themselves. Capitol Hill carries one kind of heat. Ballard has its own weathered confidence. The Central District, Fremont, Beacon Hill, Wallingford, Queen Anne, West Seattle, the U District, Pioneer Square, the International District, each one throws off a different signal. The city is always splitting into subcultures, arguments, scenes, habits, and quiet fixations.

And people get attached hard.

Maybe through the schools. University of Washington, Seattle U, Seattle Pacific, Cornish, all feeding the city with students, artists, burnout, ambition, and overthinking. Maybe through sports, because Seattle fans absolutely know how to build a whole emotional week around the Seahawks, Mariners, Kraken, Sounders, Storm, or the larger local sports orbit. Maybe through music, work, rain, breakups, apartments that were too expensive, or one perfect view that never really left your head.

So this is not some disposable souvenir with no nervous system.

It is for the person who wants Seattle on their head without flattening it into cliché. A gift for someone who knows the city can be reserved, chaotic, beautiful, inconvenient, and weirdly intimate all at once. Something to wear to a show, a market, a ferry, a record store, a trailhead, a game, a diner, a bar, or a gray afternoon that somehow turns into a great night.

Strange Allies makes city gear for people whose relationship to place is specific.

Seattle is nothing if not specific.
