Below it, "Oakland Calif." in tight stacked block text. The period after Calif. is doing real work. It ends the sentence before anyone else can add to it.

Cal Berkeley students wear it through Rockridge on a Tuesday and it reads like a statement without trying to be one. Someone heading to a Warriors game layers it under a jacket and it holds up in a crowd that knows what it is looking at. A Fruitvale local puts it on for a Saturday at the Grand Lake Farmers Market and it fits every part of that morning.

The Y2K cut earns its place here in a specific way. Fitted at true size, it is cropped and close with that early 2000s shape that is landing everywhere right now because it never actually stopped being right. Size it up and the whole thing loosens into something baggier and more relaxed, the kind of fit that works equally well for a long day across the city or a night in Temescal where things run later than planned.
