There is a version of New York City that exists entirely at 1am on a Tuesday. It is not glamorous in the way anyone outside of it imagines. It is a warehouse in Bushwick where the sound system is better than any club you have ever paid a cover to enter. It is a bodega run between sets. It is the J train home when everything is already over and somehow still going.

Strange Allies made Art & Drugs & Music & NYC for the person who lives in that version of the city without thinking twice about it. The SVA student who has been painting the same wall in Bed-Stuy for three weekends in a row. The NYU kid who stopped going to class but never stopped showing up to things that mattered. The person from the Bronx who watched hip-hop get born in their borough and knows exactly what that means.

New York gave the world the Ramones and Notorious B.I.G. and LCD Soundsystem and A Tribe Called Quest, and it did all of that while also being completely impossible to live in and absolutely worth it. That is the whole deal. That tension is the whole city.

Electric Zoo happens out on Randall's Island every year and the crowd that makes it memorable is not the one buying VIP. Governors Ball pulls the same energy from a different direction. The people who really understand both of those events are also the ones who know the underground parties that happened the same weekend and never got photographed.

The print is clean. Block type, four lines, the period at the end doing real work. Cooper Union and Columbia kids will get it immediately. So will everyone else who came here with almost nothing and built something anyway.

New York takes. It also gives back in ways that are completely disproportionate to anything you could have planned for. Wear this like you already know that.
