Description

Los Angeles in worn varsity letters with a Calif. badge underneath, printed on a women's crop top. The city was founded in 1781 as El Pueblo de la Reina de los Ángeles by 44 settlers from Mexico. Now it's home to millions and no one agrees on the best taco truck. Classic varsity style for a city that is a classic. As Los Angeles souvenirs go, this one holds up. Check the video size guide and size chart to find your fit.

Fight With Purpose

Automatic donations to related charities

Fair ask. We’ve been creating anti-fascist and progressive art for over 25 years. Chicago made us, but now we’re full-time nomads making art and products that espouse our beliefs in human rights and social justice. We design things for the communities we come from and the ones we fight alongside, with a portion of sales donated to causes we support. We’re stubborn, loud, and allergic to neutrality. No fascists. No excuses.

Most of our items are available in a wide range of sizes. Additionally, most items are available in various styles. If you see a T-shirt design you like and want it on a hoodie, check the hoodies section or use the search bar. You can also customize the style and color of most designs in the custom section of our website.

Feel free to contact us if you can't find what you're looking for, and we'll do our best to make it happen.

We donate $1 of each item sold to non-profits and organizations supporting progressive, humanitarian, and justice-oriented causes around the world. All donations are automatically calculated and transferred to our charity partner every month to ensure compliance and timely processing.

We want you to love your Strange Gang goodies! If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you request a return for a refund or exchange within 7 days of receipt. Please note that all returns must be unworn and unwashed. Simply contact us at info@strangegang.com and we'll guide you through the process. Read more here. Important: Custom items cannot be returned for any reason, but damaged items can be replaced.

L.A. on Your Own Terms

Los Angeles does not have a center. That is not a complaint, that is the architecture. It is Silver Lake at two in the afternoon on a Tuesday when the coffee shops are full of people doing something that might be work. It is Inglewood on a Rams game day when the whole neighborhood shifts into a frequency that is completely its own. It is Echo Park, Boyle Heights, Leimert Park, Los Feliz, and Koreatown all existing simultaneously within the same city limits without any of them resembling each other even slightly. Strange Allies made this tee for the women who know which version of LA shaped them and have stopped trying to explain it to people who have only ever passed through.

Los Angeles arches across the chest in heavy distressed collegiate lettering, cracked through like the print has absorbed years of actual use, Calif. abbreviating the whole state below it in a weathered stamp box that reads as signature rather than label. The Y2K cut sits cropped and close at your size, relaxed and unbothered when you go up one, which in LA terms means it transitions from a Dodger Stadium afternoon to a late night in Highland Park without requiring any additional thought from you.

Wear it to a USC Trojans game at the Coliseum when the energy in that stadium is doing the thing where it gets into your chest and stays there. Wear it hiking Runyon Canyon on a morning when the marine layer is still sitting low and the whole city is muffled and almost quiet. Wear it to the LA Marathon finish line on Rodeo Drive cheering for someone who trained for six months on the bike paths along the LA River. Wear it to the Watts Towers Arts Center, through the Grand Central Market downtown, along Abbot Kinney in Venice on a Sunday when everything costs too much and somehow you do not care.

For the transplant who drove into this city from somewhere flat and landlocked, windows down on the 10 freeway, and felt something click into place that has not clicked anywhere since. For the woman who grew up in the Valley and has been quietly defending it to people who only know the jokes. For anyone who has watched the sun drop behind the Pacific from the top of the Griffith Observatory and understood immediately why this place keeps people.

A gift tied to Los Angeles carries the whole weight of the city, which is enormous and specific and completely worth it. Not a postcard, not a snow globe, not a magnet. This is the tee that earns the name it is wearing.

Strange Allies. Built for the city that built you back.
