Description

Boston runs across the front panel in wide varsity block letters with white embroidery, and retro script underneath reads "Every block has a story." Built for natives, students, transplants, and lifers who know this city block by block and would not trade it. Wear it to a Celtics game, a Patriots watch party, or a Sunday morning somewhere between Roxbury and Jamaica Plain. The snapback and trucker are structured with a flat brim. The dad hat is low profile and unstructured. The kind of gift that lands right every time. Available in navy blue, black, green, and more.

One size fits most adults. Snapback, dad hat, and trucker versions available.

Care Instructions

Hats can be tricky to clean, so the best way to clean your caps is by hand-washing them. Machine-washing can ruin the shape and damage the embroidery. If you are going to wash it: Use a mild detergent (no bleach) in lukewarm water. Gently spot-clean with a damp cloth if needed. Avoid using brushes.

Fair ask. We’ve been creating anti-fascist and progressive art for over 25 years. Chicago made us, but now we’re full-time nomads making art and products that espouse our beliefs in human rights and social justice. We design things for the communities we come from and the ones we fight alongside, with a portion of sales donated to causes we support. We’re stubborn, loud, and allergic to neutrality. No fascists. No excuses.

Most of our items are available in a wide range of sizes. Additionally, most items are available in various styles. If you see a T-shirt design you like and want it on a hoodie, check the hoodies section or use the search bar. You can also customize the style and color of most designs in the custom section of our website.

Feel free to contact us if you can't find what you're looking for, and we'll do our best to make it happen.

We donate $1 of each item sold to non-profits and organizations supporting progressive, humanitarian, and justice-oriented causes around the world. All donations are automatically calculated and transferred to our charity partner every month to ensure compliance and timely processing.

We want you to love your Strange Gang goodies! If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you request a return for a refund or exchange within 7 days of receipt. Please note that all returns must be unworn and unwashed. Simply contact us at info@strangegang.com and we'll guide you through the process. Read more here. Important: Custom items cannot be returned for any reason, but damaged items can be replaced.

From Southie to Somerville

Boston has a chip on its shoulder the size of the Garden and absolutely zero interest in filing it down. This is not a city that performs for you. It does not dress up its neighborhoods to make them more palatable. Dorchester is Dorchester. East Boston is East Boston. Allston is Allston at two in the morning and somehow also at nine on a Sunday when everyone is at the laundromat looking like they made some choices.

Strange Allies built this hat for the people who already know.

The front reads Boston in varsity block letters, thick and wide and embroidered in white, the kind of lettering that belongs on the side of a fieldhouse or a gym floor that has seen forty years of city league basketball. Below it, retro script says "Every block has a story." That is not a slogan. That is a fact that anyone who has ever walked from Mission Hill to Brigham Circle to Egleston Square already carries in their body without thinking about it.

The BU kid who never left after graduation knows. The BC Eagle who ended up in Charlestown knows. The Northeastern co-op student who picked up a second job in the North End and stayed for twelve years absolutely knows.

The snapback holds its shape game after game, cold snap after cold snap. The trucker has a panel that breathes when the weather finally breaks in April. The dad hat sits low and lays flat, the one you reach for when you are not trying but you are still trying a little.

As a souvenir it is the one that makes sense. Not a replica jersey. Not a plastic Fenway magnet. A hat that says the city's name and beneath it acknowledges that the real Boston is not one place. It is every block, every neighborhood, every street that someone has called home and defended like it was personal.

Because it was.
