Washington has two moods: soaked through and absolutely alive.

This is not the Washington people imagine from an airport layover and one photo of Pike Place Market. It is the state with salt air in the ferry lanes, basalt out east, cedar rot in the woods, smoke season dread, mountain passes that close when they feel like it, and a coffee habit that should probably be studied by professionals.

WAAF speaks to the whole strange map. Seattle apartment windows glowing at midnight. Tacoma grit and band flyers. Spokane summer heat. Olympia protest corners. Bellingham bikes, Everett shipyards, Yakima fruit stands, Vancouver river traffic, Port Angeles fog, Walla Walla wine weekends, Leavenworth chaos, San Juan ferry nerves, and the long gray pull of I-5.

Strange Allies made Washington Loud for people who do not need their state pride cleaned up for visitors. It is for rain walkers, mountain drivers, sound-side workers, Cascades obsessives, Sounders shouters, Mariners believers, Seahawks noise makers, Kraken faithful, Huskies and Cougs arguing until the sun comes back.

The design says WAAF, short for Washington As Fuck, in a rock n roll style that belongs in dive bars, campgrounds, record stores, trailhead parking lots, ferry decks, and grocery runs where everybody looks mildly weatherproof. Wear it as a structured snapback, trucker hat, unstructured dad hat, or knit beanie, depending on your version of Northwest survival.

This is for the local who knows which bridge traffic will ruin the day. For the kid who left for cheaper rent and still calls it home. For the person who can smell rain before it lands. For anyone who understands that Washington pride is not one city, one skyline, one mountain, or one sports chant.

It is green, gray, loud, wet, weird, and still somehow worth defending.
